Association between atopic dermatitis and extracutaneous bacterial and mycobacterial infections: A systematic review and meta-analysis

A systematic review was conducted to confirm if extracutaneous bacterial and mycobacterial infections are increased in those with atopic dermatitis (AD).

Results of this review showed that patients with AD do have increased chances of contracting extracutaneous infections, however, more studies are required to confirm an association.
