The blood proteomic signature of early-onset pediatric atopic dermatitis shows systemic inflammation and is distinct from adult, longstanding disease

To assess systemic inflammation in recent-onset pediatric atopic dermatitis (AD), blood inflammatory proteins were analyzed from early-onset pediatric AD patients.

Thirty children with moderate-to-severe AD were assessed using 257 inflammatory and cardiovascular risk proteins.

Results demonstrated systemic immune activation within months of pediatric AD onset.
