Skin pain is a major driver of poor quality of life in atopic dermatitis

A prospective dermatology practice-based study was conducted to determine the frequency of skin pain in patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) due to itch, inflammation, scratching, etc.

Results demonstrated that at baseline, almost 43 percent of patients in the study with AD reported skin pain while almost 14 percent of patients reported “severe or very severe pain.”
