Psoriasis is unpredictable; it can unexpectedly flare-up or go into remission. Treating your psoriasis can help keep it under control. This requires seeing your dermatologist and following or making adjustments to your treatment plan.
Even when psoriasis clears, it’s likely to return. When it does, treatment can help control it so that your psoriasis doesn’t worsen. If you stop treatment, one of three things may happen; you may go into remission (a period of clear skin), you may relapse (psoriasis returns much like it felt and looked before), or you may rebound (psoriasis comes back worse than before).
If you are thinking of stopping treatment, always talk with your dermatologist first, as he or she will advise you on the best way to stop your treatment in order to prevent a rebound.
