Recommendations offered about when atopic dermatitis (AD) warrants systemic therapy are “too narrow in scope,” according to the opinions of commenters responding to an expert panel of the International Eczema Council.

The commenters stated that other important factors, such as accompanying anxiety and depression, must be considered when introducing the use of systemic therapy to treat AD.
