According to a new review, for children with atopic dermatitis (AD), eliminating foods to control the disease may not be beneficial.
As many as one-third of patients with moderate-to-severe AD have food allergies, so while the severity of the condition correlates with food allergy, it is not believed that food allergies cause AD.
New data has revealed that some food allergies, such as a peanut allergy, may be caused by AD, therefore, carefully treating AD may reduce the incidence of food allergy.
