Atopic dermatitis is associated with osteoporosis and osteopenia in older adults

A  survey of US adults uncovered that atopic dermatitis (AD) was associated with osteopenia and osteoporosis. However, misclassification bias occurs when self-reported AD is included in studies.

To combat misclassification bias in the case of determining a more accurate association between osteopenia and osteoporosis with AD in US adults, a study was performed that only used physician-diagnosed AD.
