Disease severity measurement scales for most patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) are not recommended for routine clinical practice but are typically used in clinical trials.
Commonly used scales used to assess disease severity are the SCORAD index, the Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI), Investigator’s Global Assessment (IGA), and Six Area, Six Sign Atopic Dermatitis (SASSAD) severity score.
To properly scale AD, rigorous testing and assessment is usually required.
