Topical calcineurin inhibitors (TCI) are recommended for use on both acute and chronic AD for both children and adults.
They can also be of use in selected clinical situations including:
– Recalcitrance to steroids
– Sensitive areas like face, anogenital, and skin folds
– Steroid-induced atrophy
– Long-term uninterrupted topical steroid use
