A systematic review and meta-analysis of the regional and age-related differences in atopic dermatitis clinical characteristics

Due to previous studies producing “conflicting results about the commonality of different atopic dermatitis (AD) signs and symptoms”, a review set out “to determine the prevalences of AD characteristics and differences by region and age.”

Results of the review showed the most predominate AD features were pruritus, lichenification, and xerosis; and differences existed in AD characteristics by region.
